We know you will foster a love for learning, critical and creative thinking skills, adaptability, and a sense of purpose, preparing you to thrive in an ever-changing world.

Arrivals and Departures

Are gates are open from 8:00am to 5:00pm with the following variations:

  • 8:00 am – 9:00 am – Sunrise Club (Optional): Join us for a light breakfast and relaxing transition to learning time. This is a no-cost solution open to Cycle 2 (Grade 1) and up. We mostly have attendees whose families need to be at GVL a little earlier than 9:00 am.
  • 9:00 am – 3:30 pm – Hub Time: This is our regular learning time. When you come to school, make your way down to your Hub to begin the day. Your guides will walk everyone to the top of the school for pickup at 3:30pm.
  • 3:45 pm – 5:00 pm – Sunset Club (Optional): Our Sunset Club is open to anyone from Cycle 2 (Grade 1 ) to Grown-ups! From Monday to Thursday. We have activities like textiles, circus, drama, art, and music. Once again, this is a cost-free solution. Just let your Guide know if and when your child will attend. Snacks provided. Pick up is 5:00 pm.

Parent Communications

  • Compass: Is our formal communication platform. You will receive an email with your login details on or before your first day. Install the App for best experience.
  • SeeSaw: Is our informal look into what learning is happening for your child and their hub. You will receive updates on your child’s day and other communications from your Guides here. You will receive login details from your child’s Guide.
  • Facebook Chat Group: This is our informal GVL Community Facebook Group where we share community events, working bees, and other information. We invite you to join the group and reach out to other members of the community as needed.
  • Email: When you have a question, your child’s Guide is your first port of call. You can find this via Compass, or just ask them when you see them at GVL.  Emails are our preferred contact method for Guides. Our days are busy and SMS or phone calls can get lost in the flow of our world.
  • School Phone Number: When you call GVL, you will be directed to the Hub in which your child spends their day. After following the instructions, you will reach someone who can support you. If no one is available, leave a message for them to get back to you when they have a moment.

Healthy Food Program

Our Healthy Food Program ensures no one goes hungry, offering snacks and meals to fuel learning and community bonding. We gather for lunch as a hub, sharing meals and engaging in outdoor activities before resuming classes. If you have any dietary requirements, please let our registrar know so that we can prepare in advance. As much as possible we support vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, nut free, Halal and various food intolerances. If you would prefer to bring your own lunch, you are more than welcome to do so! You will still join the rest of the community to eat together.

Our Day of Learning

Here at Global Village Learning, our day is a vibrant tapestry of learning and discovery, woven into three unique sessions:

Morning Session: Our days kick off in our cozy hubs, where we dive into the worlds of literacy and numeracy. It’s all about getting those core skills shining bright!

Healthy Food and Exploration Time: Midday, we come together like one big family for our scrumptious Healthy Food Program. Post-lunch, it’s time to stretch our legs and minds — whether it’s by joining a workshop that sparks our interest or enjoying some free-spirited play.

Afternoon Projects: And then, as the afternoon light filters in, we shift gears to our passion projects. This is where design thinking and project-based learning take the lead, guiding us to explore and hone what we love most.

Every step of the way, we’re about nurturing not just the mind, but the heart and spirit too. It’s all part of how we do things in our Global Village — where learning is living!
