If These Kids Are the Future – We Should Listen

GVL Studio’s first public event: a screening of RISE – Voice of a New Generation

See how a one-of-a-kind, student-led high school in Boise, Idaho is reinventing education and changing the balance of power. Rise: Voice of a New Generation spends a year following the coaches and students of One Stone, which has been referred to as one of the most progressive schools in America. If these kids are the future, the future is bright.

They don’t wait for permission.
They don’t fit the mould.
They’re not following a system — they’re rewriting it.

“We believe in the power of bold questions, untold stories, and spaces that refuse to settle.”

RISE: Voice of a New Generation is a raw, unfiltered look inside One Stone — one of the most progressive schools in the US — where young people don’t just attend school. They run it.

These young people aren’t just preparing for the future — they’re shaping it. And in watching them, we’re invited to reimagine what’s possible in our own learning spaces, communities, and selves.

This is student-led learning. On fire.

About the Film

Created by Emmy Award-winning filmmakers, RISE follows the students and coaches of One Stone over one remarkable year. No teachers. No grades. No textbooks. Just real-world projects, radical trust, and the raw power of youth voice. Find out more info about the documentary here.
